Nanowrimo | Let the Writing Begin
Beloveds! Welcome back to my blogosphere on this side of the internet. This month some pretty amazing things are on the horizon. Not only have a released my first-ever collection of poetry, check out the Kindle version here For Wonder in the Wilderness.
I have also started Nanowrimo this year! November is Nanowrimo month and for those of you who are unaware, this month is for writers who commit to writing a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. These days are filled with hazed writing sprints, rare editing, and maybe sporadic drinking of caffeine. I'm not really sure, but I've always imagined Nano to be this way. LolsFor me, I've attempted Nano on and off again since college. I would say to myself how cool this month is and how amazing it will be to write with a bunch of other people who are writing around the world. Yet, I never actually did it. Don't get me wrong, I would think about it, get excited about it, and then that excitement would just fizzle out. This time around, I have started prepping and also praying. Because it be like that sometimesNonetheless, this year has been a year of making and keeping goals, no matter how long they take and how much discipline is required. I'd like to keep this goal, not for anyone else, but for myself. As a writer, I find it all too easy to doubt my creative ability and gift and one way to get over the hurdle of doubt is to take a leap of faith in what God's given me so, yayyy for Nanowrimo.Today marks Day 10 and so far, I've reached maybe 2,000 plus words, which for me is a blessing in and of itself because I've never reached more than 1,000 during Nano. So, my goal for this week is to make it to 5,000 words by the end of next week. The desire is here, I just have to keep up the momentum. If you, dear reader, are also partaking in Nanowrimo, let me know below in the comments.
