God is the Giver of good things. There is a scripture that says, “every good and perfect gift comes from the Father.” – James 1:17
There are moments in life where it can be all too easy to focus on the “little foxes” that destroy and steal happiness. Songs of Solomon states, “Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming.” I, in the most recent history of my life, have been a fox-focuser (I know it’s not a real word, just flow with me here).
It has been so so easy for me to focus on the things in life that aren’t going well. Situations, that actually don’t matter in the grand scheme of life become gigantic instances where my mind tends to wander and sleep. I find myself roaming in a field of foxes and I find that life isn’t all that fun shrouded underneath the shade of little orange-ish and brown fur.
In the last couple of weeks of my life, I am realizing that I want to spend the rest of my life unraveling the beautiful gift of acknowledging the little things in my life. There are so many things, little things, that when I think about them, heavily outweigh the bad foxes I tend to focus on.
So, here is a list of the little things in my life that remind me of my Father who is constantly giving me something to be thankful for:
